Spanish Phone Numbers: Required Documents for Companies and Individuals

Local address evidence, business tax identifiers and DNI or NIE.

03/11/2026 – Agendly

To request a Spanish local number through Agendly, prepare evidence of the end user’s identity or business registration and an address matching the number’s area. Companies, sole traders and private individuals have different checklists.

Checklist reviewed: 3 November 2026. This guide describes the documents for Agendly’s local-number review. Documents must match the actual end user and requested number type; acceptance follows review of the submitted evidence.

A Madrid number, for example, can use 91, written internationally as +34 91. The prefix is part of the geographic scope of the compliance profile.

Address and physical presence

Provide the service address in Spain, including street, building number, five-digit postal code, city and country. The address must match the geographic area of the requested number. Submit proof of address issued within the last three months.

The end user must be physically present in Spain when purchasing the number. A tax identifier or a company certificate does not replace the location evidence.

Company: required information and documents

Provide the company name, an authorized representative’s first and last name, a contact phone number and the business fiscal identifier, commonly referred to in number-registration checklists as NIF/CIF.

The required documents are:

- Spanish company registration certificate.
- Recent proof of the service address matching the number’s area.

The company information and fiscal identifier must identify the same business. Enter the identifier exactly as shown in the registration or tax records.

Sole trader: required information and documents

Apply under the business client type and provide the registered activity’s details, the owner or authorized representative’s name and a contact phone number. Submit evidence of the business’s registration in Spain and its fiscal identifier, together with the recent proof of the local service address.

The document must establish the professional activity being registered. A private individual’s application and a sole trader’s business application are separate client types.

Private individual: required information and documents

Provide your first and last name and a contact phone number. Submit a valid identity card or passport, your Spanish DNI or NIE, and recent proof of the address matching the requested prefix.

For EU orders, a valid national identity card or passport from another EU member state can be reviewed as local identity evidence. The Spanish DNI/NIE requirement and address requirements still need to be met; a foreign passport alone does not complete the local-number checklist.

Preparing the files

Use complete, readable scans with matching names and addresses. Check the issue date of the address evidence and make sure the fiscal identifier belongs to the person or business named in the application.

The registration checklist described here is for local geographic numbers. It does not cover a separate commercial, national, shared-cost or toll-free product, whose conditions can differ.

Mobile availability and multiple profiles

Mobile numbers are not offered in Agendly’s current Spanish purchase flow. The latest inventory check on 2 November 2026 found no mobile coverage for that flow. This is an availability statement for Agendly, not a claim that Spain has no mobile numbers.

Create a separate compliance profile for each country and local prefix. A Madrid profile does not automatically approve a Barcelona number: prepare a separate prefix profile and the relevant location evidence. Existing approved profiles can remain available while another is reviewed.

FAQ

Is a passport enough for a private Spanish local-number request?

No. The personal checklist also requires the Spanish DNI or NIE and recent proof of the service address.

Does a company need to use the private-individual checklist?

Use the company checklist, including Spanish business registration and the fiscal identifier. Each client type has its own required evidence.

Is a foreign business registration enough?

The local business checklist requires registration evidence in Spain. Confirm the correct end-user entity and local documentation before submitting the request.
