French Phone Numbers: Required Documents for Each Client Type
French address evidence and the company, sole trader and individual checklists.
03/11/2026 – Agendly
A French local-number request through Agendly needs a verified end user and a documented address in France. The required identity evidence depends on whether the number belongs to a company, a sole trader or a private individual.

Checklist reviewed: 3 November 2026. This guide describes the documents for Agendly’s local-number review. Documents must match the actual end user and requested number type; acceptance follows review of the submitted evidence.
French numbers use +33 internationally. The national leading zero is removed: a number beginning 01 is written as +33 1.
Address and presence requirements
Provide the service address in France with street, building number, five-digit postal code, city and country. Submit proof of address dated within the last three months. The end user must be physically present in France when purchasing the number.
The local-number checklist requires a French address; it does not specify that the address must match the city historically associated with a particular geographic prefix. The address itself must still be verifiable and consistent with the application.
Company: required information and documents
Provide the company’s registered name, the first and last name of an authorized representative and a contact phone number.
Submit:
- French company registration certificate.
- Recent proof of the service address in France.
The company and address details should be readable and consistent across the records. A representative’s identity document is not listed in the standard local-company document checklist above.
Sole trader: required information and documents
Use the business client type and provide the registered activity’s name, the owner or authorized representative’s full name and a contact phone number. Submit the French registration evidence for the activity and recent proof of the French service address.
Prepare evidence that identifies the business activity being registered. The sole trader’s business checklist is distinct from an application for personal use.
Private individual: required information and documents
Provide your first and last name and a contact phone number. Submit a valid identity card or passport and recent proof of your service address in France.
For EU orders, a valid identity card or passport issued by another EU member state can be reviewed as local identity evidence. The French address and physical-presence conditions remain applicable.
File preparation and product scope
Use clear, complete copies with readable names, addresses and issue dates. Check that the address proof falls within the three-month window. Submit the documents under the client type that reflects the actual end user.
This local-number checklist does not add the SIRET/NAF details associated with certain French multi-purpose mobile products, or the separate SIREN requirement listed for toll-free products. Those are different number types and need their own review.
Mobile availability and multiple profiles
French mobile numbers are not offered in Agendly’s current purchase flow. The latest inventory check on 2 November 2026 found no mobile coverage for that flow. The existence of separate French mobile-number rules does not mean those numbers are available to buy in Agendly.
Keep a separate compliance profile for each country and requested local prefix. You can retain existing approved profiles while another is reviewed. The profile scope and the number selected for the order must match.
FAQ
Must a French local number’s address match the prefix’s city?
The reviewed local-number checklist asks for an address in France, without a city-to-prefix matching requirement. The end user and address still need to pass review.
Does a private individual need a company certificate?
No. An individual submits identity and address evidence. A company or sole trader submits the relevant French business registration evidence.
Does this guide cover French mobile numbers?
No. It covers the geographic local-number workflow. Mobile numbers are outside the current Agendly offer and have separate conditions.
